Create Draw
Creating the draw for a competition is done by clicking the ‘Create Draw’ button. Entrants are randomised against tee times and an initial draw is provided, which can be adjusted if required. Between the different draw competition types and player formats, the screen varies slightly.
Draw – Single Player
Each member is put into a slot against a tee time.
Draw – Multi-Player
Each playing group of 2, 3 or 4 players that entered in the same booking are given the same time. Any players that entered themselves only, are given random timeslots, with logic baked in to fill empty slots from earliest time first.
Zoned Draw – Multi-Player
Like other types but players can only be moved within the zone they entered, not between different zones. There are clear distinctions between zones in the competition.
Features Supported
With an interactive drag and drop user interface, the ‘Create Draw’ screen offers great functionality for Admins to modify the system generated draw as they need to. Simply move players from one playing slot to another. Slots can be ‘overloaded’ while Admins figure out the right blend of players for their competition, safe in the knowledge that no players are removed, and the draw cannot be saved with more than 4 players in a time slot and this is clearly highlighted.
Attempting to confirm the draw with more than 4 players in a time slot will fail and display a message so the admin can resolve the issue.
During this time of moving players around, nothing is communicated to members. This user interface is purely for the Admin to adjust the draw as required. When ready to publish the draw, simply click ‘Confirm’ at the bottom of the page. The draw is processed into the Timesheet where the user is automatically navigated to see that it has been updated.
An email is also sent to each member in the draw to confirm their tee time in the competition. At this point, any available time slots can be booked by Admins or Members up until competition entry closes.
When a draw is confirmed, members can remove their entry in the Members module and Admins can remove them on the Timesheet but the draw entrants page can no longer be used to add or remove members.
