The competition waiting list feature allows members to specify a preferred time range (start time, end time) that they would like to play. They will then be added to the waiting list. If a member cancels within their preferred time range and they are top of the waiting list with their request in this time range, then they will automatically be added to the competition and notified of the booking by email.

Once configured, the first thing you should do is set up the global system parameters for the waiting list. There are 2 parameters, the first one controls the maximum length of time that a member can be on the waiting list for and the second one is the number of times they can be on the waiting list for in any given competition. These can be found in "Tools" >> "System Configuration".
The "Maximum time range (mins)" defines the maximum time range in minutes that a member can enter when adding themselves to the waiting list. The default is blank which means no restriction and so can apply to the whole competition. A value of 120 would only allow a member to be on the waiting list for a maximum of 2 hours and 1 minute from say 9.00am to 11.00am.
The "Maximum number of times on the Waiting List" defines the maximum number of times that a member can add his/herself onto the waiting list for any one competition. E.g. a value of 2 would allow a member to enter preferred times say of 9-10am and 2-3pm. The default value is 1.
